I love watching movies and shows whenever I have some spare time. I’ve watched so many movies and shows on different platforms that I feel like it gets difficult for me every time to decide what to watch, especially when streaming platforms like Amazon Prime are raising the bar of shows and movies.
From comedy dramas to science fiction thriller shows, the right story can make a simple evening into an interesting movie night session with friends and family.
But to actually enjoy watching your favorite shows and movies, you need to make sure that you have a fast internet connection. This is why many people look into a reliable internet provider to make sure that they don’t have to see that dreaded buffer icon. For that, I would recommend that the users contact WOW! Customer Service to find fiber internet plans that can fit their needs and budget.
Moving on, in this article, I will walk you through my favorite shows on Amazon Prime that I could rewatch over and over, and are must-watch for any viewer.
So, let’s get started!
The Boys
- Release: July 2019
- Genre: Superhero, Action, Drama
I discovered The Boys through its iconic title song.
Since then, it has become my favorite show. The show is about superheroes who are controlled by a corrupt corporation, Vought International. In the eyes of the general public, they are considered heroes, but in reality, they are arrogant, selfish, and misuse their powers.
The show revolves around Vought International as they manage and support the supes and try to position them as superheroes in the eyes of an innocent audience, as they cover their dark secrets, including their outright psychopathy and selfish behavior.
Fleabag
- Release: July 2016
- Genre: Comedy, Drama
Fleabag is a dark comedy show that is about a woman who is dealing with love, life, and loss in London after the death of her best friend, Boo, which she blames on herself.
The show depicts the themes of self-acceptance and feminism as the series mentions modern womanhood dealing with issues like loneliness, self-worth, and sexuality, amidst personal flaws and struggles to live a meaningful life.
In my opinion, it is not about finding redemption, but it’s about acceptance and learning to love.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
- Release: March 2017
- Genre: Comedy, Drama
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is a period comedy-drama series set in New York in the 1950s. The show revolves around a woman who was living a very good life with her husband, but after they both got separated, she discovered a hidden talent for herself in stand-up comedy and decided to pursue her career in it.
The best part of the show was when the protagonist was in an emotional and drunk state, and she stumbled onto the stage of the Gaslight Café situated in the Greenwich Village club. There, she starts to deliver hilarious and unfiltered rants about her life and failed marriage.
Fallout
- Release: April 2024
- Genre: Action, Adventure, Science Fiction
Fallout is a famous Amazon series that gained so much fame in less than two years. The show is set 200 years after a nuclear attack, which almost destroyed the Earth.
The show revolves around three main characters, Cooper, Maximus, and Lucy, as they try to navigate the dangerous and wasteland land of Los Angeles and uncover the dark secrets and conspiracies that make this show more thrilling and suspenseful.
Moreover, the show explores the themes of pre-war American and post-apocalyptic reality, and it mainly focuses on rebuilding the resilience of the human spirit and corporate greed. All these aspects are wrapped in retro-futuristic and humorous elements that aim to focus on power dynamics and surprise the origins of the wasteland conflicts.
Invincible
- Release: March 2021
- Genre: Action, Adventure, Science Fiction, Comedy
Invincible is an adult animated superhero series on Amazon Prime, which is based on the comic series of the same name, published by Robert Kirkman. The series is popular for its bright and cartoonish graphics with complex and many storylines.
The show follows the themes of loss of innocence, identity, morality of violence, and family dynamics. All these themes contribute to its success and mature storytelling, attracting a large audience throughout the globe to watch this show.
I am personally not a fan of animated shows, but I loved this one because of its story, brutal action sequences, and witty dialogue.
Amazon Prime – A Goldmine of Brilliant Shows
I personally believe each of the shows I’ve mentioned brings some sort of uniqueness to the screen, earning a reputation for some of the best TV shows to watch. If you’re confused and don’t know where to start, choose any of the series from this list, and I hope you have a great time watching them.
